BRAin is an interactive installation in which the gallery-goer dons a circuit board 'bra' and twists two strategically placed knobs in order to control the speed and motion of the figure in the video projection. The installation uses a MIDI digitizer and Isadora software to interface with the knobs. The piece addresses issues of cyberfeminism and control, both its relation to technology, women, and the notion of the cyborg. The suggestive turning motion of the interface, as well as the attached pink lace, incited feelings of both awkwardness and enjoyment from participants.
